TFS SDK

TheFolderSpy [TFS] is a program that monitors and alerts the user if files/folders are created, changed,
added or deleted within a folder.

TheFolderSpy SDK is the 19 KB implementation of the same functionality in a dll. Actually better functionality.
While TheFolderSpy is implemented as a single-threaded application, ie, all the detections are processed by a single thread, TFS SDK gives the ability to handle detections by multiple threads with all the complexities of multi-threading abstracted.

TheFolderSpy SDK runs these post-processing operations in multiple threads and uses a very robust algorithm to supress the duplicate notifications [One-Notification-Per-Detection [ONPD]] and never misses any notification. Never.

Just 4 lines of code get you started. Sweet, short and simple.
This start can take you miles! You can even make your own implementation like DropBox.

We wanted TFS to be one of the most reliable apps out there. So we subjected an app using this SDK to a very stressing stress test in which it succeeded to detect:
1. 10,000 files created and logged in about 8.1 seconds. That’s approx. 2 files per
millisecond.
2. 100,000 files created and logged in about 142 seconds. That’s approx. 0.7 files per
millisecond.

All this was done in a 3 year old box. You can find the detailed specs and benchmarks in the Documentation pdf provided with the SDK.

You must be familiar with TheFolderSpy, a freeware which detects changes made to a file or directory.

Announcing TheFolderSpy v3, which detects accesses to a file or directory.

Its a very powerful tool. In the tests conducted, it detected even the accesses to the Master File Table!

Its still in development but the core module is developed and functional.

TheSearchMan 2.0

During the development of TFSv3, we were also working on an update for TheSearchMan.
Here is a short 15 second video of the test GUI for the new searcher component. I must say, it surprised me :)

What is CodeStory:

CodeStory is a new programming language, designed especially for kids of age 10-15 years. The IDE is designed in such a way that it helps the students to master the basic concepts of programming. Its different in many small and many big ways. Kids have fun working in CodeStory's colorful windows and animations. Features include:

Setup sRemote ( VERY easy!, just enter gmail id to monitor.) :

As the video below shows, you can have sRemote running in less than 2 minutes!!

On first start, you will be asked a password. Enter that password very carefully, and DO NOT to share it.
Now [in "Gmail settings"] just enter the gmail id you want sRemote to monitor, its password [don't worry! your password is in safe hands.] and another gmail id to which you want sRemote to reply to.
 You are now ready to go. Just set the number of seconds in which your email will be monitored and click "Start monitoring".

How to send commands: (read following lines very carefully) :
you can send commands to sRemote from any email id and from anywhere in the world, using any device.
you write the commands in the subject. [sRemote monitors only the first 250 characters]
Each command is terminated by a semi-colom ";".
the basic syntax of every command is: command();

for eg.  screenshot(); OR run(http://www.somesite.com/download.zip);

in the subject field, first you need to enter the password. If the password is not found,  then sRemote will not process the commands.
So, if you want to get the screenshot, you have to write [supposing you password is "secret"]

and email it to the gmail id which sRemote is monitoing. [you'll get a mail with the screenshot attached.]

You could be asking me "why should I use it?"
Consider a scenario:

You start the recent blockbuster torrent and after seeing the 200 kBps speed, you happily
engage in some other task, trying to pass the 1 hour download time.

After that 1 hour you joyfully turn your monitor on (which you turned off to save power!)
to find the movie ready but instead you find that just 5 mins after the starting of the
download, your internet connection betrayed you. You check the modem, but its running fine.
Some mysterious power disconnected your internet.

You became quite angry. The pizza and coke you ordered are useless now. Just then your cell
phone rings. Its your best friend. She asks you something and you yell at her for no
reason. And she stops talking with you.

Heres the output:

if you have a bacth file.

is the place to enter the location where you want to search your files. It may be a folder or a drive

If you want to search in a drive just enter its name(eg c).

If you want to search all drives enter "all" in the folder box.

If its a folder the you could either

use the "Browse for Folder" window or enter the text yourself but I recommend the former.

"File Name":

is the place where you enter the file(s) to be search.

When entering the filename it is strongly recommeded to use

wild cards. You must almost always use them unless you know the

filename correctly.

TheSearchMan accepts windows wildcards (? for 1 character and * for multiple character)

and you are encouraged to almost always use them for better results.

The 'Search with-in Search' will show searches within searches.

To get accurate results please enter the file name efficiently.
